| E/Bus Support Cover™ is a minimum 25 kV phase to ground flame and arc resistant cover. Electrically insulating for Bus runs in substations, it will prevent inadvertent outages, from squirrels, birds, and other climbing animals. Made from 65 durometer high temperature vulcanized silicone, similar to polymer insulators used today, it is designed to last the equipment lifetime. Simply install and forget.
E/Bus Support Cover™ is a hydrophobic top hinged cover designed to fit nearly over all bus support clamps and bus up to 4 inches in diameter. The bottom of the cover will expand to fit over any insulator with a skirt diameter 8 inches or less typically up to 34 kV insulation systems. It is easily field or Midsun factory modified to sit on top of the first skirt if this is your company standard. Our cover will not trap water leading to ice breakage, degradation, cracks or brittle under ultra violet sunlight radiation, and will not sustain a fire, leave carbon tracking or leave conductive ash.
The E/Bus Support Cover™ is closed with the exclusive standard silicone push pins found on all Midsun covers. Most other systems use tie wrap or christmas tree like devices that have inadequate U.V. resistant properties, making the cover weak and an unreliable animal mitigation protection system.
