The E/Energized Barrier is a one piece molded design disc - shaped barrier that prevent squirrels, birds and other wildlife from causing phase to ground contact. E/Energized Barrier is a track resistant flame retardant material with enhanced UV resistance. Designed with lineman in mind, it installs easily and safely with a common shot gun stick, without service interruption. All E/Energized Barrier have concentric ring design to facilitate natural rain washing action of insulator surfaces and minimize wind loading. In combination with its dark grey color, the design also minimizes public visibility of the device. E/Energized Barrier flexible fingers allow the device to slide smoothly between adjacent skirts of an insulator and then hold the device securely in place to form a long term insulated barrier on substation equipment, such as switch and power fuse insulators, terminators, arrestor and bus support insulators. The E/Energized Barrier’s innermost rings are easily clipped with a set of standard lineman pliers to allow the barrier to fit virtually all insulator core diameters.
